| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to investigate rural tourism and recreational facilities, such as 'Nogyo Koen (Square of Agriculture)' in Maebaru City of Fukuoka Prefecture, that promote rural-urban interactions. In order to use farm land efficiently, Nogyo Koen provides facilities for a farmers' market and the teaching of woodcrafts as well as garden plots. We found that the recreational facilities and infrastructure constructed by the local authorities were sufficient, however, more interesting events will be required if they want to attract more participants. It is necessary to increase the number of agricultural commodities available at the farmers' market and improve the flow of information to urban residents. If this can be done, there is a possibility that Nogyo Koen can be developed to meet the potential demand for rural-urban interactions and have a system that appropriately reflects consumers' desires for specific types of events. | |||||
